Jazz Ciggie is the solo music project of Melbourne based graphic designer and drummer Matti Harrod.

“The main motivation for me to create music on my own is control. As well as there being no time limit or negotiations that you have to deal with when you're in a band. Most of what I do is merely done as a distraction from the mundanity of everyday life. It’s certainly more satisfying than watching Netflix or playing video games (which are cool things to do but….)"

Matti has played drums in Melbourne bands since the mid 1980s. Including Beanflipper, Mullgrinder, The Outfit, The Scutt Bros. and Mental Health. He currently also plays in the instrumental prog band Chunks.
