Max Davies grew up fascinated by sound and music. In addition to his solo work, his music has been featured in films, at NYC Fashion week, spoken-word collaborations and dance productions.
"I often try to subvert the standard protocols somewhat in order to invite something unexpected into the recording process. Sometimes the best things occur as accidents or mistakes. Sometimes it sucks and doesn't work, but sometimes it can yield a distinctly magical part that would've never happened otherwise."
He has worked with variety of musicians, poets, freaks, weirdos and beautiful noisemakers. An eclectic guitarist, musician, songwriter and producer, he has been fortunate to work with such sonic luminaries and linguistic magicians such as Thurston Moore, Anne Waldman, Lydia Lunch, Toni Oswald, CA Conrad, John Trudell, LAPCAT, Clark Coolidge, Steven Taylor, Junior Burke, Ic Explura, Gregory Alan Isakov and many more.
His last album In The Realms Of The Mercury Halo was reviewed by Guitarist Magazine as being a record that "yearns with a sorrowful gravitas and minimalist intensity".
